# What You Need:

→ Slider Components

01 - 1 lb ground beef, 80/20 blend recommended
02 - 1 tsp garlic powder
03 - 1 tsp onion powder
04 - 1 tsp kosher salt
05 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
06 - 12 slider buns, soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls
07 - 6 slices American cheese, halved
08 - 12 dill pickle slices
09 - 1/2 cup ketchup
10 - 1/4 cup yellow mustard
11 - 1/2 small white onion, finely diced, optional
12 - 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter
13 - 1 tbsp sesame seeds, optional

# How To Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F.
02 - In a medium bowl, gently combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix lightly to avoid overworking the meat.
03 - Press seasoned beef mixture evenly into a 9x13-inch baking dish, creating a uniform layer approximately 1/2 inch thick.
04 - Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until cooked through. Drain excess fat and set aside.
05 - Slice slider buns horizontally. Arrange bottom halves on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
06 - Place cooked beef slab over bun bottoms. Top with American cheese halves, pickle slices, and diced onion if desired.
07 - Drizzle ketchup and mustard evenly across the layered toppings.
08 - Cover with bun tops. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds if using.
09 - Return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese melts and buns are lightly toasted.
10 - Remove from oven, cut into individual sliders, and serve immediately while warm.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Everything bakes together on one sheet, meaning minimal cleanup and maximum melty cheese coverage
  • The beef slab method keeps the patties incredibly juicy since they cook in their own juices
  • These reheat surprisingly well for next-day lunch, though they rarely last that long
02 -
  • Draining the fat after the first bake is crucial, otherwise the bottom buns get soggy and fall apart
  • Let the beef rest for just a couple of minutes before slicing so the juices redistribute
  • A serrated knife cuts through the finished sliders without squishing everything down
03 -
  • Use Hawaiian rolls for a subtle sweet twist that people absolutely lose their minds over
  • Press the beef into the baking dish with damp hands to prevent sticking
  • Run a knife around the edges of the beef slab before transferring to keep it intact
